Private keyboard lessons at Musikschule MAESTRO Dresden

Unlike the piano, a keyboard has various control elements such as buttons, knobs, or sliders. The ability to produce realistic tones and control accompaniment through drum and instrument sounds makes this instrument incredibly attractive and powerful, especially for lovers of popular music genres like jazz, rock, pop, or film music. Modern keyboards typically have 61 keys.

A solid understanding of chords in the left hand is enough to have a lot of fun with this musical instrument. Meanwhile, the right hand focuses on playing the melody. Our expert teachers help coordinate both hands so that you can eventually play independently. Our experienced, professional piano teachers offer keyboard lessons to students from around the age of 5 in Dresden and the surrounding areas.
Musikschule MAESTRO also has a modern, reliable sound system and various inspiring sheet music materials. Regardless of age or preferred music genre, we recommend keyboard lessons as a highly creative form of music education in Dresden—both individually and in groups.
We are also involved not only in private keyboard lessons in Dresden and the surrounding area but also in providing advice on instrument rentals and assisting with instrument purchases under favorable conditions and at affordable prices.

Frequently Asked Questions (Piano Keyboard):

Is there an age limit to start learning piano?

In the Far East, such as China, Japan, or South Korea, piano lessons often begin as early as age 3. In Europe, however, musical education typically starts a bit later. Therefore, it is highly recommended to enroll children for a trial lesson from the age of 5. There is no upper age limit. In Western Europe, adult beginners make up about half of the students.

At what age should one start keyboard lessons?

It all depends on the student’s prior piano experience. If a student has no prior experience (at least 6-12 months) with playing the piano before the first keyboard lesson, it would be advisable to first develop solid piano skills. A piano/e-piano and a keyboard differ significantly in playing technique, making the choice of which instrument to start with important.

An acoustic piano or an electric piano? Which keyboard instrument should one buy?

In recent years, the quality of key mechanisms in electric pianos has significantly improved. Today, both instruments are quite similar, at least for student purposes. The price of an electric piano is, on average, much lower than that of an acoustic piano, and especially a grand piano. A new electric piano can be purchased for around €400, while a newly manufactured acoustic piano costs at least ten times as much. Additionally, an electric piano is much lighter (generally not exceeding 50 kg) and takes up less space.

Is it necessary to have an instrument?

A keyboard is recommended. Otherwise, practicing between lessons is simply not possible.

How much does a lesson at Musikschule Maestro cost per month?

What do you need for keyboard lessons?

Basically, you don’t need anything. You can come to the trial lesson relaxed and ready. If you are more advanced, it would be helpful to bring the sheet music you have been using. For beginners, we will find suitable sheet music together.
